NASA1The NEACTC Culinary Arts team advanced from competition at the NASA Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama as part of the NASA HUNCH Culinary Arts Preliminary Competition.

Team members are Dillon Adams (Jonesboro HS) Brianna Smallman (Nettleton HS), Yasmine Talib (Jonesboro HS), Juan Velasquez (Jonesboro HS) and Laila Wright (Valley View HS),

Chef Zane Johnson noted that his five-team member competition team is now one of the top 10 teams in the country.  The winning team in Houston will have their recipe added to the culinary lineup in space for astronauts on the International Space Station.

NEACTC has partnered for the past six years as a NASA HUNCH partner in the Engineering Design and Production Lab. This is the first year that the NEACTC Culinary Arts team has partnered with NASA HUNCH.

As the Culinary Arts students and staff at NEACTC already knew, the food prepared by NEACTC culinary students is out of this world.  Hopefully NASA astronauts will soon be saying the same thing.

Congratulations NEACTC Culinary Arts team and Chefs Zane Johnson and Raelyne Massey.
