Automotive Service Technology

NEA Career & Tech Center continues its Automotive Service Technology accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians' Educational Foundation (NATEF) for automotive service excellence (ASE). In fact, our center hails as the first such training program in Arkansas to be recognized for such national recognition.

Students work in six well-equipped bays that are equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment. Student safety is critical; students must pass a proficiency exam each year prior to entering work bays. Students are then prepared for future employment by mastering numerous required tasks such as brake repair, four wheel alignment, wheel balancing, and steering & suspension.

Ultimately, each student is recommended to take ASE student certification testing in several content areas. Successful completion provides national ASE certification, which will propel them to careers in the automotive service industry, or allow them to pursue post-secondary college training and degree programs. Concurrent credit while enrolled at NEA Career & Tech Center is available.

Certifications offered:  ASE student Certifications in Brakes, Steering & Suspension, Electrical Systems, Engine Performance, and MLR (Maintenance and Light Repair).
