What is SkillsUSA?

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization in the United States that focuses on promoting career and technical education (CTE) and preparing students for careers in skilled trades, technical fields, and leadership roles. It is a student-led organization that operates primarily at the high school and college levels.

The main objective of SkillsUSA is to enhance the personal and professional skills of its members through various programs, competitions, and activities. The organization helps students develop technical skills related to their chosen career paths, while also fostering leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

SkillsUSA offers a wide range of career-specific competitions, known as "Skills and Leadership Contests," where students showcase their expertise in various occupational areas. These contests span fields such as construction, automotive technology, healthcare, information technology, culinary arts, public speaking, and many more.

Through participation in SkillsUSA, students have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, gain real-world experience, and interact with peers who share similar career interests. The organization also provides scholarships, professional development opportunities, and access to resources that support students' academic and career success.
