What is a Merit Diploma?
A Merit Diploma celebrates students who go beyond the standard graduation requirements. It’s awarded to high school seniors who challenge themselves through advanced courses, maintain strong academic performance, and show commitment to career readiness.
How to Earn a Merit Diploma:
Students can qualify for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Merit Diploma by completing one of the following:

Earn 12 or more hours of concurrent college credit through approved courses
or -
Earn an H2 industry certification in their CTE program of study

At NEACTC, students have two main paths to earning a Merit Diploma through career and technical education:

College Credit: Many NEACTC programs offer concurrent credit opportunities through local colleges, allowing students to earn 12 or more college hours before graduation. Click here to see which programs has 12 or more of college credit hours.

H2 Industry Certifications: Students can also qualify by earning an H2-level certification within their program area, demonstrating advanced technical knowledge and career readiness.
